In the business world, the only thing that we can be certain of today and in the future is constant change.
- How can today’s adult worker capitalize in this chaotic and ever-changing world?
- How can you gain greater control over your life?
- How can you achieve greater balance between work, family, and recreation?
One area that we will see substantial growth is the development of small business and self-employment. Already our government is starting to encourage it by offering incentives. There are 23 million small businesses in the U.S. today, and it’s growing every year.
Self-employment also potentially offers much greater financial rewards.
To find out if self-employment is for you and to generate and assess business options, we are
offering the following 2-part seminar with homework and handouts. You can sign up for both parts
at once or just participate in the initial session. (You must take the Part 1 before taking
Part 2.)
Self Assessment and Business Options - Part 1
During the initial seminar session, you gain the information you need to determine
whether you have the "basic ingredients" needed for a successful small business
venture. The first session will cover the following:
- Determine your Entrepreneurial Quotient! Do you have an entrepreneurial personality?
- Get an assessment of your talents, favorite skills and interests
- Gain valuable information to help you decide if self-employment is for you
- Learn about various options for owning a business and how they differ
- Learn how to do market research to assess a successful business venture
- Learn about different methods for financing a business
Business Idea Generation and Evaluation - Part 2
The second part of this seminar will focus primarily on the generation of ideas and
viable business opportunities for the participants. These ideas will be generated
according to your talents, interests, skills, and financial resources -- according to
all of the assessment information we gather in the first part of the workshop.
Each session is made up of about 5 people each, and will be scheduled with each
participant after registration and attendance to Part 1 of the seminar. Times will vary
and you will be given several sections to choose from. You will gain the
following from this part of this seminar.
- Generate ideas for self-employment based on your interests, talents, and skills
- Obtain checklists for evaluating ideas to see if they are a viable business opportunity
- Receive additional new business resources. All that is needed to get you started.
- Begin an Action Plan
